Each year the IEOR department attracts best young minds from all over the world. Admission to the department is highly competitive. Graduates of our department are recruited heavily by industry and academia. Our former students obtained top managerial and engineering positions in firms such as Amazon.com, Coca-Cola Inc., Disney World, Eastman Kodak, Intel Corp. Our PhD graduates are regularly offered research and faculty positions by leading research labs and universities.
Jengyee Liang
Jengyee (B.S. '05 IEOR) passed away on November 10 at the age of 25 after a three-year battle with lupus, an autoimmune disease. Among her many achievements, she served as president of Berkeley's chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, worked as an ASUC senator and received the prestigious Bechtel Engineering Scholarship. She also volunteered for the Special Needs Aquatic Program where she taught swimming techniques to children with disabilities.
